Console Backlight
« on: August 23, 2009, 05:52:13 PM »
Well I just finished replacing the transmitter on my vp2.  I turned off my display in the process and now can't remember how to keep my backlight on continuously.  It will stay on for 20 seconds or so then kick off.  I checked in the manual and couldn't find anything to help me.

My Vantage Pro 2 stays on until I turn it off.  It really messes with my indoor temperature though so I leave it off.

Pushing the "2nd" button twice should keep the light on.

Even when using the power supply, I had this issue with my VP1... would stay on for about 10 seconds and cut off, and was replacing batteries more than I think I should have been.  I believe I had a defective power supply from day 1.

I figured it out.  There must be a short in my ac adapter as the console is not recognizing it being plugged in.  The light is kicking off because the console is only running on the batteries.  thanks for the replies

Yep, when on AC the backlight will stay on. When on DC the backlight will eventually time out.

Interesting way to diagnose a power source failure!
