Upload to Weather Underground
« on: November 11, 2022, 01:51:38 PM »
Hi,

I have a Waldbeck Huygens 6 in 1 weather station (WS2910). I would like to ask for help on which app or software I can use to upload data to the weather underground page? So far I have used VS view and VS view plus app, Ecowitt, but now none of them work. Thanks.

when your WS2910 console is connected to the local network (via WiFi) and to the internet, you should be able to see an entry for it in the WS View Plus device list, going by the name EasyWeather-WIFIxxxx V.1.x.y This will only work inside your local network.
When you click/tap on this entry a dialog for data posting should open and you can connect your console to Ecowitt.net, wunderground.com. WeatherCloud and WOW (plus to a free chosen server).
If the entry doesn't show - and your WiFi is activated for your smartphone - you can use the connection ID option (top right in WS View app) to make it appear in your device list.
In order to connect to WU, you need to register your station at wunderground.com with a station-ID and a related password.
These two pieces of information you will have to enter into the WU network connection page in the WS View app (use copy and paste to enter the WU credentials ).
After some time your data should appear at wunderground.com - similar procedure applies to ecowitt.net where you will also have to set up an account.

Thank you very much for the information. That's how I did everything. My only problem is that the upload works for a few days, then after a few days and always at 23:59 at night, the upload to the weather underground stops, then it goes offline, and no matter how many times I tried a new installation, this is always the case.

and that's only with WU or also with e.g. ecowitt.net or other weather services ?
(I assume you also upload your data to ecowitt.net - if not that's recommended but of course not mandatory ;)).
Recently there have been weird issues with uploading data to WU.

It could also be an issue with your router, depending on the DHCP IP address lease time.
Did you do a IP address/MAC address binding in your router ? (for your console to always have the same IP address)

Along with the other things mentioned
1) make sure you are connecting to a 2.4Ghz Wifi Network. Depending on how you have your router se up 2.4 and 5GHz may have the same SSID. This does work for some, like me, but not others, so isolate the 2.4 to a separate SSID
2) Check your router configuration, Do you : have a watchdog router reboot set for a time? , Are you sure you have locked the IP of the unit at the router not to invoke DHCP IP change. Where are you handling your NTP (time server) are you running your own?

How up to date are you on the station firmware?
Sadly , with the vast number of router models and internet connection types, we can try to help. It may help if you post the following:
1) Router make and model
2) Firmware revision of your station
3) Internet provider

No they are not.
Your photo is of the customized upload /  tab.
pwsweather.com is another mesonet, it is not weatherunderground.

You have to click the second item: Wunderground  => another name for WeatherUnderground.
and only enter your  two items, station and key

A static (fixed) IP address is preferable.
As the consoles (except for the GW2000) cannot install a fixed IP address, you have to use a functionality available in many routers to bind the MAC address of the device (here the console) to the dynamic IP address provided by the DHCP server. Like this the dynamic IP will  become a factual static or fixed IP address.

Let's put it that way:
they are wrong for posting to Weather Underground
but
they are correct for posting to pwsweather.com

But the general issue seems not to be that the posting doesn't work, but that the posting stops after some time, usually at midnight.
This leads for me to the suspicion that is is an internal network issue most likely with the router.

Hello Everyone,

I changed the IP address of my weather machine, set it to a fixed IP address. It worked again for 3 days, then stopped again at night 23:59.  :-(  :-(  :-( Anyone got any other ideas?
