Uploading CoCoRaHS data using iPad
« on: October 24, 2017, 11:08:02 PM »
When a person reports his or her daily rainfall amounts to CoCoRaHS when using the CoCoRaHS Observer app on an iPad, one cannot any longer easily enter the daily rainfall amount. If using an iPhone this issue does not exist and the app can still be used. This issue resulted from a recent app update to version 1.2.0. I understand the app developers are aware of this issue and believe affected users can work around the issue by using the Safari browser and going to the CoCoRaHS website rather than the CoCoRaHS Observer app — that is, no big deal, thus it is not a high priority to correct. The place to enter one’s precipitation for the day is no longer visible as the word “submit” blocks the data point to enter rainfall for the day. See attached screenshot for the issue.

Moral of the story? Updated apps aren’t always helpful—in this case, the old app worked just fine! Not the new app if using an iPad!

My source of the above comments re the app not working correctly is from the Illinois CoCoRaHS coordinator.
