How to access MeteoBridge data for WordPress
« on: April 08, 2019, 11:42:38 AM »
Since the change to the way Wunderground handles the data from my station, I have decided to use my own web site with a page for my PWS.

My website is built using WordPress and I want to use the WordPress plugin called WeatherStation. I need to find one of the accepting weather sites in the MeteoBridge weather networks where I can access the Stickerstags, clientdraw.txt or realtime.txt file that MeteoBridge uploads. I'm not sure how MeteoBridge even sends out my PWS data?

WordPress asks for an HTTP/HTTPS webserver and the url where the data can be found. This is the pertinent paragraph from the manual:

File-based station
If you operate your weather station using a common software (such as Weather Display, Cumulus, WeeWX, WeatherLink, WsWin32, MeteoBridge, etc.), you can ask this software to export its data via a realtime.txt, clientraw.txt or stickertags file. If this file is locally accessible or “published” via a file server or a web server, it can be read by Weather Station to become a collected station – like any other type of station.

To add such a station please, set all the required fields and adjust the source as follow:

Web server
If the file is published on a web server, for the field source name you can specify the resource like www.example.com/path/realtime.txt. Note there’s no protocole like http:// or https:// in the source name.

File server
If the file resides on a file server, for the field source name you can specify the resource like example.com/path/realtime.txt (unauthenticated file server) or like user:password@example.com/path/clientraw.txt (authenticated file server). In this case, too, there is no protocol specification in the name of the source.

Please could someone tell me how I can achieve this? I already upload to Wunderground, PWS Weather, Open WeatherMap and Weathercloud, but none of these seem to make the information that the WeatherStation plugin needs available.

Is anyone else using WeatherStation? The WeatherStation handbook is online https://weather.station.software/handbo ... a-station/

Thanks for reading

Weather Station Wordpress software website says that it is capable of getting data from OpenWeatherMap which you said you already publish to.

https://weather.station.software/handbook/technical-specifications/#compatibility

It also says that it can get data from clientraw.txt, realtime.txt or stickertags files from devices like the Meteobridge. I'm not sure which of those applies to the Meteobridge though. If anyone knows how to get any of those files (especially realtime.txt) from the Meteobridge please share.
