The best Vantage Vue ever!
« on: November 22, 2010, 11:35:57 PM »
Here's the link.

Luckily we don't get much of an easterly wind.   And when it is... the speeds aren't effected much at all.

good job! so, did u consider putting up on the higher roof peak? if you feel the wind would be just as good where it is, assuming that is what you meant when you mentioned the lack of east winds, then I could see why you went lower. the main advantage would be ease of access in the winter, you being in Illinois it could be tough to go on the roof covered with snow if you had to get to it up on the higher roof. where it is, a good ladder can get you there. you can't do much about the house to your west and the giant trees though. but, I would say you picked the best spot possible!  =D>

I am still considering putting it on the higher rooftop.. However.... Where it is now doesn't really draw attention to it.  It kind of blends into the house.  If I put it higher it might be kind of an "eyesore"..  Also the reasons you mentioned were also factors.  This is the first year I've had a wx station and not sure how much dusting of snow etc i'm going to have to do this winter....  if it turns out I don't have to do much I might put it up higher next year....

"Weather weenie"... that's cute!

Is it just me or does the SAT view of the area look like a botched operation?
