Davis featuring at London Olympics 2012
« on: August 09, 2012, 05:19:21 PM »
Nice to see that Davis instruments have been used at the Olympic stadium.

There is a Davis Vantage Vue mounted near the press area/finish line measuring the wind speed and direction to ensure world records are valid :)

AWESOME! Can we access the data at all? I bet all the wind, rain and direction is a bit innacurate though due to it being in a stadium.

They are not using a $279 all-in-one hobby weather station for the official records at the Olympics.

They use one or two of these. An ultrasonic gauge tied into the timing system.

Over $2000 a pop.  Mounted human level at start/finish and or in the middle of the straightaway.
