New router killed meteobridge connection
« on: October 12, 2018, 11:36:49 AM »
I see that my problem has happened to other people but...

I got a new router so of course I lost my connections.  The Meteobridge Pro is connected by ethernet cable to the new router but, there is no sign of life.  The little Pro box is cold, and the tiny yellow light under where the ethernet cable plugs in on the back of the router is not lighted.  The network of the router does not see the Meteobridge.
Is this normal or should the Pro box be displaying it's IP address there?  I'm completely dead.

Use a volt meter and test the AC/DC converter connection cable to the Meteobridge Pro. Maybe it is just not getting power.

Yes, it was not getting power.  Duh.  It's powered back up and I wrote down new IP address.  It seems to be once again transmitting data!  Yeah!

Happy to help. Glad it wasn't blown by power surge. The only time I've seen one network device take out another via Ethernet was when lightning hit (save for bad PoE injection cases).

Changing routers without appropriate network management would tend to indicate Gateway/DHCP/IP conflicts, there's no reason the MB would power down due to a router change, totally separate issue, coincidence?
