I believe the standard retail price is $39.95 boxed with a mounting bracket, screws and log sheets.  Ambient and Weather-Your-Way has a special price ($25) for CoCoRaHS observers.
The Stratus 4", the no brand 4" and the NWS 4" are all manufactured by Productive Alternative.
Or you can go to the next option, the 8" standard rain gauge for $411.00 for the rain gauge, $126.00 for the base, $32.25 for the measuring stick.
Both compare favorably when measuring rain side by side.

Thanks for the info.  I want to get a second gauge for CoCoRaSH obs so I can just go out and exchange gauges and bring one in to read in case it's raining or when it's cold in winter.

The weather system comparisons are here http://www.lexingtonwx.com/comparison.htm
Unfortunately, I've had no rain to make it more interesting.

Thanks for the info.  I want to get a second gauge for CoCoRaSH obs so I can just go out and exchange gauges and bring one in to read in case it's raining or when it's cold in winter.

Did you happen to notice weatheryourway.com sells the outer tube separately for $12.50?
I have several of them and exchange outer tubes each day it rains + in the winter I can take snow core samples of both new snow and total depth on the ground, all in one trip!

...also, the $19.75 aluminum Snow Stick is very nice quality (& correctly incremented) and the $2.75 Snow Swatter comes in handy.

Excellent!  Thanks LFWX! Going to look into those today.  Might as well get ready for winter now as it really is not far off.  Especially the way time is flying by so fast!

I have been using this rain gauge since I was 10 years old.  We used to get them for like $15.00 back in the 1980s.
