Been up and running and online a little over 2 weeks. Everything went together good, did not encounter any difficulties and it's choochin' pretty good. The Sensor is mounted on 3/4" Galvanized Pipe 13.5 feet up and about 60 feet from my House. I used a 8ft 4x4 sunk into the ground 2.5ft deep. I used 3/8in. 6 inch lag bolts screwed half way in the base with 200lbs of Concrete to hold it in place. It's not moving anywhere.
Before I mounted the Sensor, I took it apart to ops check the fan and it was choochin' pretty good in the shade and made no noise at all. I had to Calibrate the Rain Gauge just a tiny bit using the syringe method. I also installed the Remote Battery Pack. The Poll is easy to come down by removing the upper three clamps and just loosening the bottom clamp so I can clean out the schmoo.
My temps in the day is running 2* high as compared to the Davis VUE and a Pro2 in my local area, I'm ok with that and pretty happy with the Acurite.
My enthusiasm is beginning to sky rocket and I'm going to buy the Davis Vantage PRO2 with the 24hr Fan and WeatherIP. I'll replace the 3/4 pipe with 30ft 1.5in pipe and mount both the Davis Anemometer/ Wind Vane at the top and the 5-in1 10ft below it. I'll mount the PRO2 Rain Bucket/ Temp Senor on the 4x4.
Looks like I found a new hobby to go along with my Firearm/reloading ( I'm a competitive Shooter ), Motorcycle and Photography hobby. Should keep me busy as I'll be retiring soon.

Very nice. I like the display. If you are using the smarthub, and want to use a different thermometer, you can do that by buying one compatible with the hub for $15, and then use Kevin Keys reader. There is a whole topic on this forum about it. That's what many have done to get a spot on temp. As soon as the sun hits my 5 in 1, (which is just like yours) the temp goes up 2 or 3 F too much. I built my own solar rad shield out of large bowls. Much cheaper than a Davis! and works perfectly.

I was thinking that since the Temp/HS sensor PCB uses a plug instead of a Solder connection , I'll just relocate the probe PCB in a aspired housing with 22ga ribbon cable. I might even power the Fan with Solar Panels from Harbor Freight and charge rechargeable Batteries for night ops.
The possibilities are endless........................

I like your thought process, especially with the solar panel rechargeable batteries. I'll be watching what you do.
If I had thought of that earlier, I would have pick up a set of Solar Panels from HF back on the 4th when they had the 25% off coupon.....................
