WS-3000 / HP3001
« on: May 04, 2019, 06:30:19 AM »
I have HP3001 (WS-3000).
I downloaded the firmware from WS-3000-X8 to get a preview of eight sensors. It works, but strange characters appear on the screen.
I downloaded the WS-3000-X5 firmware and these characters appeared again.
Can this be improved?
Sorry for my English.

Welcome....
I would suggest that you e-mail Lucy at support@ecowitt.com
Lucy has the ability to channel support issues to the correct teams. It could well be that you have found a bug in the coding that needs resolving.
In any rate this is the route that you need to take.
Good luck.

Unfortunately there are not so may folks using the HP3000 console compared with the WS2000/HP2550 all around the world.

I can confirm this issue with the display.

Did you contact ecowitt?

I downloaded Ecowitt HP3501 software to my Misol HP3001:
http://www.ecowitt.com/upfile/201909/HP3500_V1.5.8-Firmware.zip

The station connected with HP2551 sensors and thanks to this I have an additional console in the second room.

I did not write to Ecowitt.com about this error.

I wonder if this trick also works with the Ambient WS-3000 to convert it to an HP3501 console? Just putting this out there in case someone searches for WS-3000 to HP3501 firmware conversion. If someone tests this please report back. But be forewarned that you are doing this at your own risk as you could brick your console. But as evidence from other console models this has worked sometimes. Please make note of and report to us what firmware version you had on the WS-3000 prior to upgrading and what version of HP3501 you migrated to.
