Old version of WeatherlinkIP
« on: July 12, 2016, 04:18:02 PM »
Hey, I'm trying to buy a WeatherlinkIP to replace the USB version I've been using. My station is a Vantage Vue and the firmware is 3.00. The seller said the WeatherlinkIP (6555) is an old model and will not work with firmware about 2.14. Any thoughts on this? Is it something that I could just update the firmware on the 6555?

Thanks,
Dan

Just call Davis tech support (510) 732-7814, get the info you need, then shop around.

I'd steer you away from the IPs... go with serial instead.

Why would the reason be for suggesting that?

There's no good reason that I'm aware of. The USB and IP (6555) are obviously different loggers with different feature-sets and costs. But if you like the features offered by the IP logger then why not?
