WH3000 (WS2902) and WH2800 (WS2801) are compatible?
« on: November 01, 2018, 06:36:45 AM »
Hi all! A year ago I bought a WH3000 station. It is a European version and equivalent to WS2902 in the USA. The difference is the frequencies. WH3000 work at 868MHz and the WS2902 at 915MHz. I recently purchased the WH2800 station (WS-2801). Both stations, WH3000 (WS2902) and WH2800 (WS2801) are manufactured by Fine Offset in China. The frequencies change depending on the country where it is sold. Both stations operate at 868 MHz. My question is, can I get the external data with the outdoor unit of the WH3000 also for the WH2800? At the moment each station works with its external sensor. I would like to use a sensor for the two consoles. Will it be possible? Thanks

Not possible. Those models are not compatible to share sensors. Even if the frequency matches it still will not work because they were not designed to use each other's sensors.

The reason is because the WH3000 sensor is considered an outdoor sensor. The sensor on the WH2800 is considered an indoor sensor (even though you can put it outside), so it is more like an extra sensor.

But if you got a WS-2000 display console with the same frequencies as the WH3080 and the WH2800 then yes it would work. The WS-2000 display would show you both sensors on its display. You would not be able to get the US version of the WS-2000 because it is 915MHz. It would actually be called a HP2550 and look like this:

OK thanks!. I thought the same thing. But before I messed I wanted to ask. I had thought about adding another console to WH3000 and I thought that the WH2800 when working on the same frequency could be done. So how do you add another console? What steps do you have to follow? Surely I can not get it but it will always generate doubt. What other consoles are compatible for WH3000 (WS2902)?

If the display console is compatible it just works automatically when powered up. There is nothing to do. If sensor is in range you can see it on the display console.

Besides the two I mentioned (WH3000 and WH2550) these can possibly be compatible but requires frequency to match and the right firmware.

There are also some others but are not color and not as nice.

But to keep it simple I would just get another WH3000 display. You can get as many displays as you want. Just power up and they instantly work without need to do anything.
