VWS Email
« on: February 11, 2014, 12:46:52 PM »
This might be repeating what has been asked before but since VWS's email settings don't provide authentication settings....what good is it ? I have to use an external program to send reports out.

I gave up on it as well.  It would be nice if it worked with authorization abilities.

I emailed Ed and he said that it only works with SMTP and there were no plans to add authentication capabilities. He should realize that mail systems these days require authentication just to pass mail. Well some day he will be forced to do it. For now, it is a feature that is useless to many.

With that huge virus that just happened, most email servers, yahoo, hotmail, etc made it so that they block emails that have non matching domains...meaning I can't email myself the weather reports life I've been doing for 4 years now...its really a freaking shame...

Hello
I have been working with a small application smtpauth.
It is working direct in win2003.
In win2008 and also in win 8.1 you need to do some small manual work with the ini file.
The application ends up in c:\windows\SysWOW64.

If you "troubleshout compability" in win 8.1 it will correct the way it starts and will work there after.
