Hi,
I could not find if there was an update to the NHC script. I noticed today when I click on the NHC Experimental Marine Graphicast section (Atlantic) of the wx_nhca.php which should take you to another page I get a page not found error.
Let me know.
Thanks.
Bob

Can't help you with your question but, where can one find the wx_nhca.php script? I've searched but, so far, nothing shows its source.
-
I thought I had gotten the script from this forum. I did a search like you and turned up nothing. I will keep looking.

I also did a Google search on the Internet and only came up with these posts as results...
Could you include the code in this thread so I can look at it anyway? If you do, just be certain it doesn't include any personal info or passwords in it. I doubt that it would but always good to check first. Just attach it to a reply. You'll have to change the extension by renaming the file (i.e. wx_nhca.php to wx_nhca.php.txt) because the forum software won't accept an attachment with a php extension.
Just thought something - the php code may have a link in it telling you who created the code and how/where to get it from.

Looks like they moved the Graphicast from experimental to operational and changed the link. I guess this is the page you want.
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/marine/graphicast.php
Also, here is the page with list of all the current experimental and previous experimental products that are now operational.

The path has been corrected in this version of the script (http://www.gwwilkins.org/wx_nhcp.php). The only changed file is 'inc-nhca.php'.
Edit 2104 July 2: A modified 'wx_nhc.zip' has been posted below to correct a link that the NHC changed.

Hi Jerry,
Thank you!
Bob
-
The NHC has changed their 'Graphical 2 Day Tropical Weather Outlook' link from a 'gif' to a 'png' along with a new path.
The attached 'wx_nhc.zip' updates the link. The only file that has changed is 'inc-ncha-outlook.php'.
I've removed the 'zip' from the above post.
Edit 2014 July 3: The NHC has also changed the Eastern Pacific Graphical Tropical Weather Outlook link. The corrected link is in the zip in this post below (http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=22991.msg222690#msg222690), and this zip has been removed.
Edit 2014 Aug 14: A modified script that includes the Central Pacific Hurricane Center in the now 'Pacific' portion of the scripts has been posted below (http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=22991.msg226534#msg226534).

Jerry,
Thanks for the update. Just in time for the first Atlantic event of the season, Arthur ...
Much appreciated !!! Happy 4th of July to all ...

Thanks for the script!

They have also added an experimental 5-day graphical to the RSS feed.

Just curious... Why you took the zip off line?
Thanks :)

I think you're wondering where it went. Funny thing about that--I don't think I ever posted it online. I just shared it with a few people who asked, and it apparently made the rounds from there. I think this thread is the first it has been posted for 'official' public consumption.
As you can see maintenance can be a bit of an issue, so that's where my initial reluctance to share arose. It's apparent now that since I use it regularly and catch most problems as they arise, maintenance isn't such a big deal after all. :-)

It seems as though the link to the Eastern Pacific Graphical Tropical Weather Outlook has also changed.
This zip contains the corrected link in 'inc-nhcp-outlook.php'. The previous zip has been deleted.
Edit 2014 Aug 14: A modified and corrected script is now located here (http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=22991.msg226534#msg226534).

Ah!
I Indeed understand. So you don't mind I use it?
You did an excellent job!
Regards.

The Central Pacific Hurricane Center was given the short shrift in this script set as demonstrated by the recent tropical activity in Hawaii.
Stan in Hawaii has been kind enough to help further troubleshoot this script set with the addition of the Central Pacific Hurricane Center's graphic to wx_nhcp.php along with a link to the CPHC. There were a couple of CSS validation problems with the scripts, and centering was unreliable. Both problems have been corrected in the attached version of the NHC script. I called it wx_nhc-1a.zip just because...
Edit 24 Aug 2014: The correct url for the Atlantic current conditions graphic is found in 'wx_nhca1b.zip'.

I've seen it on other websites but for some reason with the Atlantic Graphic TWO it still shows Arthur from July 5. I did clear my cache so not sure what's going on.

Here is a note pertaining to the images:
Catalog of graphic files:
two_atl.overview.gif
Base graphic used by Chris Lauer during active storms.
two_atl.overview_no_tcs.gif
Base graphic used by Chris Lauer during no active storms.
two_atl.overview_off_season.gif
Base graphic copied by webmaster into atl_overview.gif during the offseason.
I don't think they actually re-direct inactive storm images but merely stating what image should be displayed.

Sorry to be so slow on the uptake here. The NHC changed this graphic's type and url. The revised script is posted above (http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=22991.msg226534#msg226534) as 'wx_nhc-1b.zip' and the only changed file is 'inc-nhca.php'

Thanks! :-)

Thanks for the updated script Jerry - good job
-
I apologize for not updating these scripts until now, and for not including all necessary scripts in the zip posted on my web site.
The NHC has modified their web site considerably since my last update of these scripts which at best provide an overview of tropical current conditions but more importantly can serve as an entry point into the NWS NHC web site the complexity of which isn't at all matched by my scripts.
You can find the latest complete version here on my web site (https://www.gwwilkins.org/gwwScripts.php).

Thanks Jerry

Thank you Jerry :!:

Just finished another update to this script, specifically the Atlantic view (https://www.gwwilkins.org/wx_nhca.php). It now has a fully functional Graphical Marine Forecasts image, i.e. the areas open (in new tabs) without going through extra steps/clicks.
You can download it in the usual place (https://www.gwwilkins.org/gwwScripts.php).

Another update is available on my scripts page (https://www.gwwilkins.org/gwwScripts.php). There was a centering problem for one user, and my tentative solution was to enlarge all of the <div>'s to 656px rather than shrinking them, for some unknown and unrecallable reason, to 607px,
