QR Scanners
« on: May 02, 2017, 01:15:32 PM »
I don't get this.  You download one, install it, open it, point it at the code and ....   then what?

All of the instructions I've read stop there.  They don't say what to do, or what should happen.

I've done that with three or four different ones and achieved the same result.  Nothing.  I must be missing a step somewhere.

Normally they open a webpage etc. for whatever you have scanned.  Does anyone eve use QR codes any more??

It was quite the rage a few years ago. A few people even added a QR code to their Outlook signature that contains their email address. Don't know why you would that  :? You just hit the reply button.

It was big in advertising products. People just scan the code with their smart phone and the encoded URL takes them directly to the web site.
I just saw one today at a gas station advertising a credit card.  :-)

I got a small camera to ply with.  It has a code to scan to get the utility to operate it.  I pointed.  I focused.  I tapped.  Nada.

I'm ASSuming that you are doing this on a PC.  Did you open up a text editor or something to receive the virtual keyboard input?  Did that window have keyboard focus (active highlighted window) when you scanned the QR code?????
