Software Advise
« on: August 04, 2009, 03:56:50 PM »
Seeking advice as to the better recommended software to put my station on line with Weather Underground and the like. I received a Davis Vatage Pro 2 for my birthday in April. I was so eager to get it going I just about attached the anemometer to a broom stick. Since, I have tried to achieve all the recommendation for siting. Just last night I raised the anemometer to 33 feet. The rain gauge is tracking within .02 of my 4 inch gauge. I have it running on a clean Vista OS 2 year old Compaq with a 1 TG backup external drive, backup powered by an APC 1250VA/750 watts system.
After three months testing and improving I believe it to be reliable.
All suggestions will be appreciated.

I assume that you already have the data logger, if so you have WeatherLink.  Use it to begin with, then try the free 30 day trial of Virtual Weather Station.

Yes, I have years 5.8.2. Also, I have a LaCrosse WS-2308 that has been in more or less constant state of repair for the past 3 years. At one time I had it connected to the PC via serial port. It has been modified with a home built FAS and seems to be much more accurate. Will it download to VWS?
