Title: MS App or Website for Tiny Tablet & Davis Vantage Vue?
Post by: MaverickNH on June 08, 2018, 07:15:09 AM
I have my Davis Vantage Vue running with Meteobridge to upload my data to WU, CWOPs and other sites but want a more easily read display of my station data and the local forecast on a tablet I would place in my kitchen.

I've looked for a Win10 Microsoft App that will either display a clean single screen of data, or a website that also does so without scrolling, but cannot find one.

Any suggestions appreciated?

Why not just modify the simple HTML template that MB provides?

Would I need a web hosting service or does that show up locally within my router network? I’m not sure what this MB feature might be you’re referring to. Thanks for the help.

This one:  http://tau.meteobridge.com/templates/simpledash.html  Simpledash - Note that it is stored at the MB site but is downloaded and filled by your device

If you want simple modify the attached file and paste it into your browser. Save it as a bookmark. The output from that one looks like :

Just remember that you are reading this directly form the Meteobridge. There are a limited number of cpu cycles -- you do not want to set up multiple tablets to connect and refresh every 5 minutes. The Meteobridge documentation has very extensive information about the variables and formats that can be used.

This really is a text file not a doc!

I'm not web-savvy --- what do you mean by "paste it into your browser"? I'm using Edge on my tiny tablet.

What do I need to do on MB to get it to populate this temple from my browser?

It is a browser address -- http://

You have to do nothing on MB - your browser sends a request to the MB web server. The MB returns the data fields formatted like the request specified.

When I paste http://tau.meteobridge.com/templates/simpledash.html into my browser, from a PC on the same local router as my MB, the template comes back with no station data.
