Need an Meteotemplate expert to fix my website
« on: January 05, 2018, 11:29:56 AM »
(Jachym is not available to help.)  I broke my website today. I could not sleep so I got up at 04:00. For some reason I logged in as an admin to my site and saw there was an update for the climate block. I updated to version 21. Climate block on website not working. Of course I then discover I should not have done that since I had not updated to version 17 of meteotemplate. I tried to do the update to version 17 but it did not work. Is there away to roll back to version 20 of the affected block? or can I just delete it and then do the update and ad it back in post update?

I would like you to teamview into my pc to take a look if possible. Thanks

try deleting the block and even deleting that whole block folder from your web site?
and then do the update to the latest MT version and then re add the block and set that up

what's the worse that can happen

I went back and did the bug fixes for version 16. I over wrote all the old files with the new bug fix files. Tried to install again, NG. I just removed the "current" folder. That is why website has that message.

Idea: can you send me version 20 of the "current" block? That may work and hopefully I can leave it alone!!!

Thank you PaulMy

Installing version 20 that you sent me worked. We are all good. Time to do a backup and turn off new version notifications. I may try to update to Version 17 in the future. maybe....

You're welcome, and glad you got everything working again.

I haven't upgraded to v.17 yet but will do that in the next day or so, and you shouldn't fear to do it as well.  Just follow the instructions one step at a time, and there is usually someone to help if you run in to some difficulty.

Enjoy,
Paul

You should not update any of the blocks until you upgrade the template to v17. As you found out, updated blocks will not work on v16.

Hi,
sorry I was in Prague and away from my PC.
You need to update to version 17 first, but it should be relatively simple.

What exactly went wrong during the update?
