Title: Calendar Takes me to Russia.
Post by: ginaxallen on July 19, 2018, 10:01:28 PM
For the past several weeks, in addition to the Wundermap not working, when i attempt to look at the calendar page for my "home" weather station, https://www.wunderground.com/weather/us/co/palisade/KCOPALIS8 and i am taken to https://www.wunderground.com/calendar/palisade/KGJT/date/2018-7?cm_ven=localwx_calendar which is a blank calendar for Goltovo, Russia
 64 VOLKHOV DISTRICT PUPISHEVO STATION . This is ridiculous and given the world and US news of the past week completely unacceptable. What the hell is going on, has the Weather Channel and TWC gone over to Mother Russia. I am just about done with this nonsense. A website that no longer functions and a company that apparently doesn't give a crap and i am a paying customer. At least i am for now but that will change as soon as i can find a suitable replacement.

I use WU with no problems and it shows my station on my PC and on the mobile app. But my best, most complete, fast and consistent data from my station comes directly from my own site. I use Cumulus (old version) and upload to me website. For a mobile friendly version of it I use iCumulus for iPhone which is a just a mobile friendly web template. It works for any device, not just Apple. For my PC I use a template by Weather By You. You can see them in my signature.

The link to the calendar is bad on Weather Underground. They forgot to add the country and state to the URL. Basically it is missing /us/co/ in there.

The correct link should be;
https://www.wunderground.com/calendar/us/co/palisade/KGJT/date/2018-7?cm_ven=localwx_calendar

So it seems if you can reach out to Weather Underground and let them know the link is incorrect then maybe they can fix it.

An alternative is to create a new station ID and start using that instead. The new station ID might generate the correct link for the calendar. Of course you would lose all your station history then unless you have the data and know how to pupulate it all back which I don't really know if it is possible but I've read of people fixing WU data so I don't know to what extent this is feasible.

The reason I think a new station ID would work is because I checked out your nearest neighbor's station and their calendar link worked.

Yay, I no longer feel like i am colluding. Appreciate the fix. Now if the "Missing Mapbox GL JS CSS" when accessing the Wundermap map could be likewise repaired that would be really cool too.

Yes, I have done all the things a normal user would do and also all the things a not so normal user would do. I started with Govt specialty computer systems 48 years ago and built hardware and software systems supporting scientific research on all the platforms some of which no longer exist except in museums. Computers still fear me as they know i will rip their hearts out if they mess with me too much. I will wait for the subject matter experts to fix the issue, not my job. Angry Old Hippie.

While my calendar doesn't take me to Russia, it does go to the local airport as does history.  Is there any  way I can fix this?  My station is KCOGYPSU4, but goes to Eagle County Regional Station (KEGE).  If I try to change the station, it goes back to my "home page".  Thank you.

I believe that is normal behavior. Same thing happens for me.
