good job! so, did u consider putting up on the higher roof peak? if you feel the wind would be just as good where it is, assuming that is what you meant when you mentioned the lack of east winds, then I could see why you went lower. the main advantage would be ease of access in the winter, you being in Illinois it could be tough to go on the roof covered with snow if you had to get to it up on the higher roof. where it is, a good ladder can get you there. you can't do much about the house to your west and the giant trees though. but, I would say you picked the best spot possible!
