Title: Newb 5 in 1 Question
Post by: Bruinzfan on November 02, 2012, 11:21:54 PM
Hi all new to the forum and to the weather thing, so please forgive my Newb question.

I currently have my 5 in 1 mounted on my shed.  I plan to put it on a 38' Telescopic Mast which I have purchased and it has arrived today.

My question is this.  Are there more current 5 in 1's or are they all the same.  In other words were they updated with new firmware somewhere along the way.  I have a 1500 model.  I have also ordered an extra display that allows for the computer connection which I ordered from Acu Rite directly.  The original 1500 was purchased new but off of the auction site.  (not sure if the forum allows mentioning names, some don't.)  I just want to make sure I have the most up to date one if there are differences.  I would rather spend the extra couple of bucks and get another 5 in 1 than go through the effort of erecting an older version.   Although I am chomping at the bit to get it mounted in its new home!!!

Thank you for your input.  I appreciate it.

On a telescopic mast you will have to tie it down well because any swaying can cause your rainfall amount to be inaccurate.

I think I've got the security of the pole set.  But thank you just the same.

My question was whether the 5 in 1's firmware was ever updated along the way, or are they all the same?

Not exactly firmware, but a hardware revision:

Thank you very much for your response.  I don't seem to have that problem so we will keep our fingers crossed, since I elevated it to its new home today!

Thanks again.
