PWS and wordpress template using VIS
« on: March 31, 2016, 07:20:26 AM »
The website that I have created and currently update was made with WordPress. I have viewed a couple of different sites that offer your PWS data to be displayed on a website but noticed that none of these can be put into a WordPress template without blowing the design of the website.

The data from the PWS is currently being upload with VIS reader because of money issues and have no problem with it. The PWS is viewed on the site with the wunderground flash graphic that will update but wanted something a little better. I currently have a Acurite PWS with the VIS reader for the upload. I would like to use something like saratoga-weather templates but when I upload those templates to WordPress it breaks the template.

Any information that will point me in the right direction would be of great help to me. You can check out the site at: http://www.weatherlodge.com

I think Wim´s template is compatible with Wordpress:

Btw Wim, I love your irony in the wiki :D

Looks like it will work but I don't use another program like weather display to upload the data just the VIS reader for the acurite system that is connected to my computer via the USB cable. Currently the only free program Cumulus doesn't support acurite systems.

How did you get your bloomsky to work on your page?

How did you get your bloomsky to work on your page?

Basically I have a PHP script which I found at: http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=28883.0 running on the site. http://www.weatherlodge.com/bloomsky/bloomSkyLatest.php. Then under the widget section of WordPress have it posting the image on the right side bar and then a image refresh script is updating every 3 minutes.

Another one I found at: http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=28820.0 is up and running on the bloomsky page: http://www.weatherlodge.com/webcam

I tried to get another script can't remember where I found it with the data overlay to work in WordPress but no luck. I was able to create a test page for it at: http://www.weatherlodge.com/bloomsky/test.html all it would do is load a blank image or nothing at all.

As for the VIS part I couldn't get it to load anything in WordPress and when I got it to work the images were too big and would break the template of the site.
