So far, everything is looking much better. The average wind speed is up 3 or 4 MPH, but the biggest and most important thing to me is the gust readings are in line with surrounding sites. Yesterday I had a 23 MPH gust and that matched a Davis downtown and was close to the nearest NWS site. I am happy. The bearing for the anemometer definitely spins more freely. I think you have to account as much as you can for the weight of the metal bar for the magnet that can cause drag.
