Topic: Anybody have a homemade debris screen?

That little plastic debris screen that comes with the Davis Vantage Pro 2 rain collector...well mine is missing.  I have no idea where it went but it's missing.  I did find a wasp nest or something in my sensors and cleaned it all out.  Now I need a new debris screen.  Has anyone here made their own??  Got pictures?

The little plastic debris "dewhicky" blows out easily with wind. Try using a sink strainer instead. Pretty easy fix.

Also see http://tobaccovilleweather.com/about.htm about 3/4 down page. If I remember the specs, it is Chinese made, stainless steel, 6" dia. strainer purchased at WalMart. The original instructions said to cut the handle off with a dremel tool. I used a cold chisel and popped the spot welds. Works like a charm.
