Translation - question
« on: October 08, 2014, 06:15:58 AM »
Hi,
while I am still waiting for the new units to be available next yr I thought I would at least help by translating the strings to Czech. I have downloaded the PHP file and made the appropriate changes and translations to it. Now I have two questions:

1. First of all, I wanted to ask if by any chance there was someone from the Czech Republic too, or anyone else speaking Czech, who could have a look at it and check it. The problem is that since I am not yet a participant (as mentioned above, I am still waiting for the kits to be available again), I had to translate things that I dont actually see in the system and as you can imagine, it is sometimes very difficult if not impossible to choose the right word unless you know the context.

2. And second, what should I do next with the file. Should I upload it somewhere (if so, where?)? Should I send it to somebody (if so, whom?)

I hope I will be able to participate in the network as well in the future, but since it is not possible right now due to lack of kits, I hope I can at least contribute like this for now.

jachym,

It's not clear what it is that you have translated.  Perhaps you could clarify.

I found a PHP document, which contains all the strings. It is always named by the abbreviation of the appropriate language, eg. "en" etc.

It begins like this:

$_BL['locale'] = 'cz';
$_BL['cz']['is_utf8'] = false;

/*************************************************************/
/* Names / Copyrights                                        */
/*                                                           */
/* Use BO_OWN_COPYRIGHT in config.php for                    */
/* additional own copyright                                  */
/*************************************************************/

//Translated name of MyBlitzortung with html tags
$_BL['cz']['MyBlitzortung'] = '<span class="bo_my">My</span><span class="bo_mybo">LightningDetection</span>';

Hi jachym,

this is MyBlitzortung. I have installed it on my webserver. If you want, I can give you access so that you can test the translation.

cu Robo :)
