Some more storms
« on: December 26, 2011, 09:13:07 AM »
The storm "Dagmar" hitted Scandinavia during last 24h...As result, hundreds of tousands households lost power, plenty of roads closed, ferrys cancelled, trains cancelled, you name it...
Not so fun for those who should need to get home from Christmas and go to work tomorrow...
In south-west of Finland are "almost all" (except bigger citys) households without power and many will be so for days. If look at Nordic Network-map there are not many stations online in SW Finland at the moment.
We had about 6 hours powercut here.

For Finland was highest gust reported 35.8 m/s (129 km/h) and even inland was gusts above 30 m/s, seen on Norwegian newspaper their highest gust from a working wx-station (many out of order due to no power or "too high winds") was 65 m/s (234 km/h, cat4 hurricane).
