Wunderground Rapid Fire
« on: June 02, 2007, 06:45:52 PM »
I just downloaded a module from WU that enables WL to send updates every 2.5 seconds. I didn't even know it existed. The only problem is the upload box stays visible the whole time. You can seem to minimize it. Has anyone else used this module and figured out how to minimize that box?

I think the only way to elliminate that is to run WeatherLink as a service using another program for that purpose such as http://www.firedaemon.com/

I used the WeatherLink plugin for awhile but it seemed kind of clunky compared to how VWS handles the rapid fire uploads.

I had a bunch of troubles getting the module to work correctly in WL.  I would miss FTP uploads from time to time and CWOP updates.  I ended up getting VWS and VirtualVP and installing VWS on another PC so I could use rapid fire.  So far running on a separate system its worked perfectly.

So far, 24 hours, it's worked without a hitch. I don't like the way it freeze's the bulletin page while it's updating. I may have to invest in an upgrade to VWS to get the live data.
