So much for bird spikes when nest are more important.  :-)

Cozy. I assume you didn't use the center spike...

Looks like a Davis gauge they don't have center spikes. This is someone I follow she's agronomist, precision Ag specialist in North Central Nebraska. She uses a lot of the Davis instruments for measuring conditions.

Au contraire, the replacement cone (don't know about the aerodynamic one), did indeed have a center spike.

I never had a center spike on any of mine but haven't used or purchased a Davis rain gauge for several years so if they changed something I wouldnt know.

My replacement still sits on top of my ISS, which I bought two summers ago I believe. Shortly after I got my RW, so it's now merely window dressing.

Yes, it sits in the center of the newly designed debris screen that clicks into place
Kind regards

Huh.  I had 2 left over spikes when I bought my Aero cone this spring.  I guess I know where one goes now.

Best way for that is to mount something else more attractive higher than the anemometer, too have this
issue, even tried cable ties, but they still favoured the higher Davis one, so, in the end, i swapped them,
now the OS is higher and i removed the cable ties from it and left them on the Davis, small price to pay
to keep the flying vermin off the Davis :)

So, find yaself something thats more like a perch and put it higher than your anny, oh, i see you have a Davis
and an OS, if its the 928 or 968, get that anny higher :)
Kind regards
