Anyone off the grid with your WX station?
« on: February 25, 2019, 12:58:09 PM »
I was just thinking today looking at the PC updating my website if anyone out their has their system on solar power or some other flavor of self-power?

I thought about it with mine. But I live in a valley so I don't think it would help me much.

I've got 21 panels on my roof, but living this far north, they don't produce too much electricity from Dec-beginning of March. My 1st season with them
and the rest of my electricity still comes from the grid.

June to November I was ahead of the game.

That would be a lot bigger system then what I was thinking. I have been stuck in the house for the last few weeks....Do to snow, bad weather, ect ect. and thanks to that I been thinking way to much about things.

I found this site https://www.renogy.com/ and I may order a starter kit. Just to mess around with.

Thanks for your info! (still love your profile picture)

Dump the PC and get a low wattage Pi or similar.
