Another view from the space station...

... but with some nice auroras. From APOD.

What I thought wasn't too common was seeing the stars so brightly in the images. Orion pops up over the horizon about a minute into the clip.

...with all those lightning bolt strikes occurring in so many different locations, it looks like a war was taking place...a picture from which visiting ETs might construe that we are "...war-like..." (ha,ha).

All those lights, while a gorgeous sight, makes me think of fungus on a grapefruit.  Can't be though - were not overloading our planet...

Kinda off topic...

I recently purchased a 3D TV and we bought IMAX Hubble 3D Blu-ray. Incredible. The videos taken while working on the Hubble are so detailed and bright against the back drop of space they almost don't look real. Some of the scenes they did where you travel through space in 3D are awesome too. Highly recommended if you have a 3D TV.
