Look's like I found a bug..

I know what has caused it.. I decided to check the calibration of the soil moisture sensor by putting it in a cup of water. It registered 100%, so it was good. I guess the graphs don't like '100%'?

If I refresh the page manually, it fixes it, but only until the next automatic refresh, then all of the graphs go upside down again.

Hi Mapantz, our engineer tested the soil moisture sensor with the 100% reading and didn't have the same situation as yours:

It's really strange.
Sorry that we couldn't find out the bug now.
If it happens again, please let us know.
Thank you.

Lucy

For the first time, I have been unable to update my firmware to 1.5.1. I get to the Updating splash and then the app will quit. I tried the last two days. [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Hi, we're sorry to see that. Could you please try to delete the WS View app and download the latest version to re-install it and try it again?
If it still fails, please let us know.
Thank you.

Is that iPhone?
It looks slightly different to Android version I have.

Could be a bug in the app (check for an update) and try doing a power cycle on the GW-1000 before doing the update

Yes, it is the iPhone app and the latest app they just released a couple of days ago. I rebooted the GW1000 and still no luck.

Perhaps the update is not released yet. It is not critical for me so waiting a few more days is not a problem.

Hello everyone, I just ordered hp2551 with several separate sensors following your comments.

I'm a (very) small farmer in France with goats I turn milk into cheese.

I have a question, though. Is it possible to prohibit the publication of one or more sensor on WU or ecowitt.net sites. I do not see the point of revealing my secrets of temperature or humidity refining or publish my housing conditions. 8-)

Your station will only report outdoor conditions to WU. Extra temp/hum sensors do not show up on WU. The outdoor conditions reported to WU can not be made private.
Your station will upload all sensors to Ecowitt.net (including extra sensors). You can choose if to make Ecowitt.net data private or public, but it is all or nothing, meaning you can't pick individual sensors to make private or public. With Ecowitt.net either the entire station is public or the entire station is private.

Come to think of it, I think it would be a good recommendation to Ecowitt to allow us to choose which sensors are private and which are public.

For those with Ambient Weather brand stations that report to Ambientweather.net it works a bit different. With Ambientweather.net when you make your station public the extra temp/hum sensors are not made public. But the PM2.5 air quality sensor is made public.

Thank you for your reply. It seems to me that it would be desirable to be able to choose what one wants to make public

I was finally able to update the firmware...about three days after the updated iPhone app was released. Works fine now.

Replacement console arrived today but I am still having signal issues. It will not pick up the soil moisture sensor unless i'm within 15/20ft away without any obstructions. It barely picks up the PM2.5 sensor either. It only shows the aerial icon but with zero  signal strength. It makes no sense because the PM and soil sensors are the closest to the console. The outdoor temp/humidity sensor is almost twice as far away and it picks that up absolutely fine.

New console is on the right.

Yet, I notice the other console has full bars for your soil moisture sensor!
I have noticed that the console reception are very sensitive to Bluetooth devices transmitting nearby. In a similar vein do you have any DECT phones in the vicinity?
Curiously though when I do place a BT device that's active too close to my console not all the sensors get knocked out so it seems that the modulation (channels) used by console are prone to interference impact in different ways.

Not near the consoles, no.

Getting a bit pissed off with it now. I can't have the console in the place I want it because it will not pick up all the sensors. I have to have it in the porch to get decent signal, but I spend no time in it. The new console is worse than the old one for signal.

Previous to this station, I had a WeatherFlow station and a Netatmo station running alongside my Davis station. Both hubs were in the same room as the Davis console and I never had a single problem with RF on any device.

Hi Mapantz, sorry to hear that.
It's really strange. We have tested the console and signal very carefully before shipping.
Could you please help add the new console to the ecowitt.net?
Our engineer will try to check and find some solutions for you.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Looks like there's something wrong with your soil moisture transmitter. The PM2.5 sensor send data every 10 minutes, so the towers grow slowly. Each time the transmitter data is received, the tower is added one grid.

At Galfert's prose reading, I added a GW1000 to my order.  I have two questions, though.

1. Given that I will have two indoor sensors (HP2551 and GW1000), will both be showed on app ?

2. The goal is to publish my data on a personal website and on windguru.  Could you indicate me tutorials wearable to a newbie with this material ?

Both HP2551 and the GW-1000 will show up as separate devices on the WS-View app and as separate data sources on Ecowitt.net if that's what you are asking.

You can choose if you want to upload to other data sources, its not compulsory. You can choose either to send to a local server. I don't have a howto guide but there are plenty of posts on this site by folks who are doing this.

Both HP2551 and the GW-1000 will show up as separate devices on the WS-View app and as separate data sources on Ecowitt.net if that's what you are asking.

Your HP2550A has live data on the WS-View??? I'm not aware that the HP2551/HP2550A/WS-2000 is capable of displaying live data on the WS-View app in the same manner that the GW1000 does. I don't own the HP2550A so I'm just asking for confirmation.

For those curious what the difference is between these:
HP2550 = Fine Offset model name
HP2551 = Ecowitt model name
WS-2000 = Ambient Weather model name

They are all three practically the same thing with some minor firmware differences. There are also other reseller brands of the same original Fine Offset HP2550.

By live view of sensors I'm referring to this screen:

I just tried with latest 1.5.1 firmware and latest WS View version and you can't rename device channel names for the PM2.5.

looks like a calculation error in software somewhere since generally the Ecowitt software seems to ignore temps below 27C as far as Feels like is concerned.
Hard to tell if its a issue in the console or on the ecowitt.net website.
I would flag it to Lucy for someone to look at.

Definitely not a console issue as it's not connected to the internet. The console hasn't logged anything like that. So it's either the GW-1000 or it's something Ecowitt's side.

Perhaps you are picking up a stray signal from something else. Do you have an old station still running with perhaps batteries still in it? Or maybe it is not a problem with the GW1000, but rather it is a problem with your temperature sensor.

No other sensors apart from the Davis.

If it was a problem with the temp/humidity sensor, why doesn't it get logged on the consoles? I'm logging data at 1 minutes intervals and everything looks healthy.
