VirtualVP worked fine on Windows 8.  After s system restore all I get is.......

I have searched the internet, forums, help files websites to no avail.  I have unloaded and reloaded.  Does anyone have any info on this please.

It is telling you that you have it set to the wrong com port.

That is the same message no matter which COM port I try.  I've been from 2 through 30 thus far.

If you load weather link and then tell it to auto detect  com port under setup what does it tell you?

OK all set.  I did not think VVL and WL could share the same port.  I thought everybody had to be on their own port.

They can not share the same com port if you try and use them at the same time.   If only one is running at a time you can use the same com port.

Although you have me confused now.  The whole purpose of VVP is so that you can run multiple programs at one time.  VVP should be on com 11 and WL should be on some other and any other program running at the same time should be on a different com port.  Like this>

I don't understand this com port stuff at all.  My mistake.  When all is said and done VVP is on 11.  WL is on 7 VWS is on 8.  I can not get VPLive to work at all.  I'd like to tackle TCP/IP but for me that is a lost cause.

What are you using for a serial com port redirector?    Com O com  Lantronix?    The com ports you are using look funny. Normally the com port redirector would be setup for odd and even pairs

5=6
7=8
9=10

Thus in your case   wl 6,  vws 8, vplive 10

I am using Virtual Serial Port Emulator.  The way they explained to do it was
7=17
8=18
9=19
10=20
In your example I would enter the higher number as opposed to how I have it now entering the lower number?

That is correct in most cases you use the higher number   should be   Wl 17, vws 18, vpl 19

Don't know they are all kinda hard to setup.     My VVP looks like this   The com ports are for the netbook that actually runs the uploads.    The TCPip ones are for a separate computer on my network.

The com settings look very similar to mine.  I think I'll leave well enough alone.  Everything seems to be OK now except VPLive which I can play around with.

Look at the bottom of the setup page for VVP.

And if you look at mine I have VVP  set to 16, 17, 18.

WUHU is then set to 6, WL to 7 and VPLIVE to 8

This is backward from what I told you earlier which was wrong.

Try this set the vvp and vplive like this and see if vplive does not work

My com port in VPLive is set to 9.  When I open VPTools.ini it says 6 and does not change.
