If you check out my time lapse you can see the difference. Wonder if I can buy another lens, and how much it would cost.

I don't use E-Bay but here you go.

Debating on what I am going to do. No matter what direction I put it or angle. Still get the black shadows. Whether I am getting a new lens or camera.

Maybe take the lense out and clean it. I had that happen to my DSLR camera once. I cleaned it and they were gone. Not saying that is the problem but its worth a try.

I have the Axis M1113-E which is suppose to be the replacement for the 211. I don't think my picture is nearly as crisp as yours. Mine looks kind of grainy or what you might call noise and I can't seem to get rid of it.

I don't know, maybe I am just being a little to critical and was expecting more from this camera.

Here is the camera has processed through ImageSalsa

http://www.mesquiteweather.net/wxcam.php

Here is the raw stream straight from the camera.

Yeah, little wobbly, I am in the process today of securing the mast it is on. So do you have your 211 in an enclosure?

Yes my Axis 211 is in an enclosure. I think it looks good but your right it is a little grainy. Here are my cams. The one on the right is a DLink 932L and the one on the left is the Axis 211. I also have a Panasonic BL140a thats monitoring the driveway.

Good looking setup. I wish I could have mine down low like that so it is more stable. I have to have mine up high or it won't get above the trees. I did have it lower on the weather station mount where it was more stable but the only direction I could face it then was East and you can't see much from the East.

I think some of it might be due to the resolution I am running. The smaller resolution it doesn't look as bad. At night there it is really bad unless it is cloudy and Axis support is of no help. I can't even connect to it via internet with ACC to the Axis servers and they have no idea why. I just did a firmware update on the ACC and now I have lost all control of the camera from ACC. Oh well, I have it doing what I need it to do and I can still access through the API.

When I raise the resolution on mine it gets a little  grainy as well. It also depends on the sun as well.  Try to roll back the firmware to give you back control.

Well after troubleshooting with Axis with my shadow issues. The are pretty certain the image sensor is bad. I sent my Axis 211 to be refurbished and a new image sensor. Just sent it out today. They said it takes 7-10 days. So my cam will be down close to 2 weeks. If they are unable to fix it they will send me another refurbished Axis 211.

Got my webcam up and running. I think they gave me a another refurbished camera because the serial number is different. Will have to do adjustments when it is daytime. Got it going around dusk.

It's working for me, Chuck.  Your -5.3F temperature reading in your banner reflects the scene...kinda cold-looking!!!!

The camera appears to be focused more on the little bit of building that I see in the foreground than in the distant building and trees.  I'll check back once you have sometime to tinker with it in the daylight. :)

Not an answer but a comment...nice view of the stars in your time lapse. You will not see that on a cheap camera like I bought.

Congrats Chuck on your web cam system.  Looking great.  I too am using JW Player for my time lapse.  Seems to be working well for many of us.

Just inquisitive as to your refurb cost from Axis when you had yours done?

The camera that I have going seem to have various colors of very small spots that is only visible during the low light time.  I see those spots with others also.  Wonder if there might be an issue for my camera??? It not that annoying as it is not seen during the daylight hours.

Here is my link to my camera page http://dwayneyamato.com/wx/wxskycam.php.

Stan,

I signed up on the Axis site and sent in what was wrong with my cam. They replied to me and they told me to send them some files and then I called them and they tried to help me out before I sent in my camera. There customer service was very good. The cost of the refurb was $227. It was called an out of warranty fix or something like that. For some reason they are unable to fix your camera the will send you another 211 refurbed if need be. That was my experience.
