Was wondering if anyone can help me with my dd-wrt linksys router port forwarding?? I've tried everything to get 192.168.1.108:800 to pick up on my public IP address 50.129.82.87:800 its for my d-link 930L cam so I can save upload times to my server and actually have a live stream so i can use Image Salsa plz and thanks below is what i have so far and yes UPNP is enabled. because in the settings UPnP Port Forwarding Port open success.
Port Range Forward
Application Start End Protocol IP Address Enable
D-Link 930L 80 800 TCP 192.168.1.108 yes
i dont know what im doing wrong hope someone can help me :)

I had something similar happen to me. The cause was disabling a firewall in the IP cams settings software. Make sure UPNP is enabled in cam settings as well.
-
UPnP SETTINGS
UPnP Enable
UPnP Port Forwarding Enable
all are checked
-
If you have UpNP on the router enabled, typically it will not require you to manually set up port forwarding, as it should register the device(s) properly in the table. If not, then the device isn't really true UpNP. I have a Foscam 8910W that works superb in this respect (however I have two ASUS RTN16 routers that have a third party firmware).

ok so i bought PFConfig and Free PFPortChecker and its tellin me my external IP is 50.129.82.87 was able to ping to router and port check result "your port is Open on another device" this was after finding the application D-Link 930L on list with the ports 80,5150, 5160 TCP .. but im still yet to access it viea external IP. or am i not suppose to?
-
Try this Mike. When selecting the protocol type select both to use UDP and TCP.

my router is a linksys DD-WRT v24-sp2 and i've tried PFConfig and still cant get my public IP address to pick up http://192.168.1.108:800/ =[
-
heh... Are you trying to connect to it from inside your network?? Because when I try that addy it says DSC-930l and asks for User ID and PWD? You have to be OUTSIDE your network to see it. USe the browser on your smartphone (no wifi) or vampire onto the neighbour's wifi and you will see.

ok so i created a basic user and user for username and password it should bypass the login thing can anyone see this?? http://user:user@192.168.1.108:800/video.cgi?resolution=VGA (http://user:user@192.168.1.108:800/video.cgi?resolution=VGA) im tryin everything if this dont work i'll just wait til i can afford a better router.. lol

That link is a class C address (for internal networks) and as such, no one not inside your network will ever see it. You need to give people the public WAN ip, not the interal LAN ip as you've done.
You can find out what you WAN ip is at http://whatismyip.com
-
If you use this address:
http://50.129.82.87:800/video.cgi?resolution=VGA
Then I see video but it doesn't look like anything is there.
A tip - if you are using your internal network to access the camera, you will need to use the internal IP. If you want external sites to retrieve it, you will need to use the external site.
In other words, if you are on the same network the camera is on, you CANNOT use the public wan address like I show above to access it, because most routers do not know how to handle the DNS loopback. It's easier to just use the internal IP for usage at home.

I'm seeing something. It's black with a few horizontal flashes from time to time. But I can tell there is motion to the page.

50.129.82.87:800 with your UID/pwd credentials allows me to see your Dlink webcam pages. And yes, it is night. So you HAVE PFed.

ok so my next question is how can i get it to view live on webcam7 sorry for all the questions just new at all this lol.

I'm not sure how webcam7 works, but from inside your network, if it's an ipcam, you'd have to use http://192.168.1.108:800 as the base address. If you tell webcam7 what kind of camera it is, it may know what to do after that.
-
ok whoever has webcam7 what do i put for the IP/Host name and webserver port ?? i've put my public IP and port 800 and no one can see it =\

The IP address of the camera and the port it's connected to
-
Are you sure the port number is not 8080

Unless W7 is specific, it is whatever he PFed to.
-
Use 192.168.1.108 for Host IP and whatever port you forwarded to. When setting it up I recommend using Network Camera 640x480.
Off topic but I got an Axis 211 shipping!

ok this is coming from 192.168.1.108:800 since thats where the cam is broadcasting on..http://www.gosportwx.com/testcam.php (http://www.gosportwx.com/testcam.php)let me kno if it works

no. When I go to this 50.129.82.87:800 I get a username and log in. That tells me that your camera is forwarded to port 800 but the outside world can't view it since its password protected or in the camera settings is not set up to direct to the home page?

ok i give up lol

I can see it here.

I can see it here.
You must have his log in info?
-
can you not get a stream like this on webcam
-
Have you filled this out
-
You are going to have to source on your webpage that http://50.129.82.87:800 address in order for it to be seen. You need to have the correct URLs for live stream from that address, as well as if you want to serve up single images.
On your particular camera, there are two URLs for live video:
http://50.129.82.87:800/video.cgi
http://50.129.82.87:800/mjpeg.cgi
Not sure what the difference is.
If you want to see that internally on your home network, you need to replace the external wan IP with the internal. You might also have to pass the user:pass combo as a part of the url (works ok for FF and Chrome, but IE hates it for whatever reason) like "http://user:pass@50.129.82.87:800/video.cgi".
However, you will need to use that external address for it to work on your weather site.
-
I just set up port forwarding for my 2 webcams. I won't post the links here because I don't want the cams public.
You internal network address to the cams should be the 192.168.1.108:800 number.
Your external internet address should be the 50.129.82.87:800 number. The 50.129.82.87 is the address to your home router and the :800 is the open port to access the camera.
As BigOkie stated, this is the web log-in to access to you cam.
If you replace the "user" with your user name and the "pass" with your password, it should work. Check that those do not show up in the address bar though or your visitors may be able to access the cameras settings. In the camera's settings there should be another log-in for visitors that you would post.

Looks like it was working fine before it went dark. :) I mean the sky got dark. I still see the overlay. I think you're good to go now.
