Oh joy, as if all the hype from Dec. 21, 2012 wasn't bad enough, now we got more doom and gloom.  It has even made the rounds on a few Spanish TV channels.  Guess I better go stock up on some more beer.

Ah, yes.  The predictive genius of good old Nostry.

May I quote this one (exactly the same as all his others):  "Somewhere, sometime, something will happen."  Incredible accuracy.

I am always amazed at those who should know better that they swallow this hook line and sinker without even looking.  The great majority of these are brought to the popular attention by people who can't even quote him correctly, and if one even takes the time to look up a reasonable translation of his writings, it is off by a large degree or intentionally 'sharpened' in accuracy.  Some of them, a few years ago, were started by drunken mischief makers on campuses and were just to see how far they'd go.

Oh well, makes you wonder who sits around analyzing the text to see if there is anything coming up.

When does the new movie SanAndreas come out?

Is there a full moon that day?

I think Nostradamus predicted my chronic constipation.

I read a recent A/P article by Alicia Chang (Separating earthquake fact from fiction in "San Andreas") is an interesting short read. In the last paragraph she sites "Computer models show the San Andreas [fault] is capable of producing a magnitude-8.3 quake, but anything larger is dubious." Maybe Nostradamus was at the prescreening of San Andreas in L.A. and learned about the undiscovered Hoover Dam fault.  :-P

It's believed the longer the fault line the stronger the potential quake.  The San Andreas fault is not believed to be long enough to produce a quake as strong as the ones portrayed in the current movie.  The longest, if not one of the longest, fault lines in the world was associated with the strongest earthquake ever recorded, which was 9.5 in magnitude in Chile in 1960.  It last approx. 10 minutes.

I watched San Andreas in 3D yesterday to kill some time. While the special effects were great, the family drama was the pretty much the same as Sharknado and the acting slightly worse. Wait to watch it on the Syfi channel.

Dr.,
There is NO WAY the acting in this movie could be worse than Sharknado.

I am questioning your membership in the Film Institute of Critics.

The only acting worse was in the recent Storm movie that was on HBO.

How is it that rain obscures my modest attempts at photographic cloud to ground lightning with ordinary storms, yet the atmosphere transparency in those films is so great you can see three or four twisters at once.  And some actors can run towards the building being destroyed, while others are hanging on to objects and the wind is so great that it makes them go horizontal?

Maybe the only thing worse than the acting is the screenwriting?

 I was being nice by calling it acting - it was more like walking through motions and reciting lines. At least Sharknado was not meant to be taken seriously.  ;)

I now understand.  Your critic's credentials are not only restored, but you are promoted to Chief Reviewer.

Yeah, how some of these screenplays and all get approved to be moved to production is always a wonder to me.  Back in the day when they used real film I always worried about the amount of silver wasted in the production of the actual physical film material they used.

At least now it is only electrons, but even so what a waste.
