So much for Al Gore and his global warming, January was the coldest here Claremont since I have been uploading to WU

It's got to be one brutal situation in California. They get slides as it is with that much rain but with all the dead dirt from the fires... wow.

We were pretty much spared out here. Only .52" rain yesterday and .22" today. Spread out over time so no real problems. A bit more than usual, with the last two JANs seeing a total of .01".

I imagine the mountains look good but I don't know where they are!

The term "Warming" is a misnomer.  SEVERE/UNUSUAL weather is the hallmark of climate change.  This series of storms and all the other extreme weather elsewhere only serves to strengthen the case.

Good luck and hope it passes you by. Scary feeling for sure. Seeing lots more moisture closing in towards the coast as well, to add to things.

I've got t-storms (well okay, t-snow) forming over the higher terrain. If it weren't for the empty trees and cold NW winds, I'd say it looks a lot like mid July.
