I got the map ginned up using and was running some tests, mainly on the V2.0 unit.
When I place the sparker about 1m away from the N (front facing) side of the antenna module, the "strikes" were being indicated in an Easterly direction. I tried this on the the other antenna and then the other LD-250. Same results. The "strikes" were fairly clustered to the East.
I also used Putty to look at the strike sentences, and they agreed with what the map was showing. (3rd item in the strings)
Is there some near field quirk with the BBQ sparker and being picked up 90° off? I assume that Boltek uses some small ferrite rod antennas. I expected to see these "strikes" piling up to the North on the map, not to the East when I was holding the sparker off of the front side.
