non tech station configuration qs

I can't seem to find an area to post questions about how a PWS should be set up and constructed. I'm not talking about all the software and platform related things that are so well covered here, but physical and operational stuff. Calibration standards, location requirements, maintenance needs; where do I find them?  #-o

This http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=23729 was located under "tech corner". Calibration seems to be station-specific and I have seen discussions under Davis, etc. The same could be said for "maintenance needs", quite brand specific.

The "CWOP Weather Station Resources" seems to be what you are looking for more or less. http://wxqa.com/resources.html

Thanks, Greg. Lots of good stuff in the first link I will look into. I also found good info from the NWS here:

http://www.education.noaa.gov/

I just didn't see a Basic Getting Started page here, maybe something for the nooB to click on and find defs of CWOP, CoCoRaHS, or AWEKAS. I agree most of the detailed info is specific to the topic, but a basic start FAQ might be helpful for those looking to get started.

Goggle will help you there with the different  abbrevations. That way you can also see what they are and their mission if they have one.
