Dust storm in Kalamata, Greece
« on: April 24, 2014, 07:14:45 AM »
Every spring we have 2-3 dust storms with heat and dust from Africa. This one had a big dust load. In the afternoon there were 2 hours we lost visibility. You can see how dust covers everything photo by photo. In the end the sky is red and dark.

Great pics! We observe the same phenomenon in Cyprus every year, too. We had a rather severe sand storm at the beginning of March this year.

Everything is ok now. Dust load has moved to Eastern Greece. But today i had to clean Davis (especially the tipping bucket) and cameras, satellite dishes, the roof  and my car needs a nice wash to.

Here is the timelapse that shows how dark and red was the sky for few hours.
