Procedure for updating VP2 console firmware
« on: July 25, 2017, 08:57:24 AM »
It has been a few years since I have upgraded firmware on my VP2 console. I would like to upgrade to the latest version, but I cannot seem to find the procedure on how its done. I used to know how to do it, but its been so long that I have since forgotten. I looked on the Davis site and they no longer have installation instructions on the page where you get the update file from. Can some one give me a hand?
Regards,
Andy Thompson

Unfortunately I already read this article in my searching for a so called procedure. It really doesn't get into where you have to put the update file and get it to transfer to the console.

Did you download and open zip file and look for instructions? http://www.davisnet.com/support/vantage-pro-console-firmware-nov-2006-2/

Main thing is don't put wrong software on.

I agree the New Davis site isn't near as informative as the old site. Hard to find anything.

I wasn't sure if the executable file would run the process by itself when I opened it, but I tried it anyways ready to hit a cancel button. But the updater had a help menu that refreshed me on exactly how to do it, and I updated the firmware with no issues. Thanks for your kind advise!

I agree the New Davis site isn't near as informative as the old site. Hard to find anything.

And I also agree. I have tried, without luck, finding the "add-on" stations, like the Temperature-Humidity station on that new Davis site, I can find it when using Google but not when I go directly to http://www.davisnet.com

Regards

Wrong. I'm looking for a complete list, and not a search-option.

"I'm a new customer, don't know anything about Davis' products so cant use a search-option"

But never mind, we agree that the new Davis site is not perfect.
