Nano SD Bug **solved**
« on: May 24, 2019, 10:57:46 AM »
I havent seen this posted so ill post it here for reference...
I found on my Nano SD that the wind0gust is not producing data. nether local nor remote.
Lightmaster was able to confirm that his is doing the same and he was going to contact Boris. I am writing it here for the masses.

wind0gust?  where is this defined?

https://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/Templates

looking at the examples: (gust)

Template Max gust in last 10 minutes was: [wind0wind-max10.1:--]m/s, [wind0wind-max10=mph.1:--]mph, [wind0wind-max10=kn.0:--]kn will be converted into Max gust in last 10 minutes was: 10.5m/s, 23.5mph, 20kn.
Template Max gust in last 10 minutes was: [wind0wind-max10.1:0]m/s, {*[wind0wind-max10.1:0] * 3.6 *1}kph will be converted into Max gust in last 10 minutes was: 10.5m/s, 37.8kph.
Template Max gust in last 10 minutes was: #if#{*[wind0wind-age:999]>600*}#then#--#else#[wind0wind-max10.1:0]m/s, {*[wind0wind-max10.1:0] * 3.6 *1}kph#fi# will be converted into Max gust in last 10 minutes was: 10.5m/s, 37.8kph when last wind data is less than 10 minutes old (600 seconds) and will be Max gust in last 10 minutes was: -- otherwise.

wind0gust does not look like it is part of the Meteobridge NanoSD values, so how is it a bug?

If you think it's a bug email Boris or post on the official forums. He's more likely to see it, and respond.

I don't have that name listed in my nanosd under stored data. so can't say if it is a bug or been part of data imported by yourself.

Well ColigWX, Ill slap my self silly.... Light just confirm that he does not have that sensor ether.... When I asked him I dont think he check for the sensor on the history tab and I assumed he did by his reply "of yes I am missing that data" So thats two cases which means, Me having that sensor must have come from my imports.

Sooooooooooooo. Yes, Its there to look pretty!
LOL!
Ill

It's worth contacting Boris all the same to see if he can shed some light on your issue.

Not sure if I understand the issue. But let me explain what I think about gust. Gust per se is undefined imho. Gust is the maximum wind speed during a given period of time. How long that period is depends on personal taste. Therefore, Meteobridge does not provide gust (as this is not defined) but "wind0wind-maxN" which gives the maximum wind speed of the last N minutes, which is a proper definition of gust. I hope this explains how Meteobridge deals with the gust thing.

I have never seen "wind0gust" as a sensor. Did you import that yourself? It should have been stored at "wind0wind"

Thanks for the explanation Boris.

Yea I have no clue were it came from but given that it has data the only think I can think of is that it came from my Meteohub files.

Edit: I just open one of my meteohub files and there it is!

Code: [Select]
1451628049 wind0dir 30
1451628049 wind0gust 1.3
1451628049 wind0avgwind 1.8
1451628049 wind0chill 11.8
1451628053 wind0dir 39

1451628065 wind0gust 0.4
1451628065 wind0avgwind 1.8

I did not added this to Meteobridge nor Meteohub... Is just there on all of my Meteohub files...  :? :?

cool, looks like an import bug. Thanks for pointing on this.

Looking into the code I cannot find any conversion routine that prints out a wind0gust sensor. So I am asking myself, how you got this file generated.

I see what happened. When I converted the meteohub raw files for him since they wouldn't import properly, I misinterpreted the documentation for the wind sensor. Documentation says that the second value of wind is the gust spend, so I added that to sensor wind0gust.

So does that mean that meteohub raw to Meteobridge direct file should be:
Code: [Select]
wind0 dir wind avgwind chill
=>
wind0dir value1
wind0wind value2
wind0avgwind value3
wind0chill value4
