I am watching Large Dangerous Rocket Ships on SCI.
Sure it will be on again.

They also have a short series-Road to Punkin Chunkin
The contest is coming up. Nov 2-4
The show will be on  Thanksgiving night.

I am always amazed at how much time and money a bunch of rednecks will spend to throw a pumpkin. Just as amazing is how much fun it is to watch them. Must be the home grown tech - like watching BattleBots.

It's not just a 'redneck' thing...about 10 years ago, I worked for a guy here who has 5 >very educated< friends that were designing/building their own device?. These guys were SERIOUS.
3 Davis set-ups...which one ya wanna talk about? And I got ALL my manuals....

Lots of things start out as something some good ol' boys thought of for fun, that turn into a big event. We have chunkin here about 30 miles away in Morton, Il. The Libby's pumpkin canning factory there cans over 85% of the pumpkin in the us. This year got rained out http://www.mortonmagnet.com/punkin_chuckin.php .
