Just upgraded to Win 8.1 a couple of days ago. Since then, VWS restarts every 5 minutes or so, constantly.

The "Restart Program if Communication lost for 5 minutes" setting is DISABLED. It was enabled for a day or so, but changing the value didn't help.

Frustrating.

Any suggestions?

I think you clicked the wrong forum but have you reset the power settings. Windows may be shutting down or going to sleep as might the USB ports.
