Isn't that Lookout mountain on the left and Signal Mountain on the right. Haven't been there in 55 years but I don't think they have changed.

You've got the right idea. But I'm looking a little more northwest than southwest. Lookout Mountain has a distinctive slope where it goes down to the river.
I've attached a picture so that you can see the slope going down to the river. You can see from the aspect, that Lookout Mountain is more to the southwest. Use the bridges as a reference. The photo was taken around 3rd St and Holtzclaw Ave if you want to use a map to get specific azimuths and stuff.
I think that picture is more of Walden's ridge and Signal Mountain. Chattanooga is naturally surrounded by mountains and ridges. They have boat tours going south and west from there going through the "grand canyon of Tennessee" because the river runs through the mountain gorges.
