New, fresh webcam, in our weather network, in Kontovounia, Western Taygetos mountain, 1612m
Looks like I am ready for the North American Monsoon here in the desert southwest. I have finished my 4th web cam. All my cameras are raspberry pi with the camera module. Three are outside (East, Northeast, and Northwest) and one inside (south) pointing outside. The cameras are taking an image every 6 seconds during the day and every 15 seconds during the night. Night shots are exposed at 3.1 seconds for all the cameras except the Northeast, it is at 3.5 seconds. I transfer all the images to my server and then create youtube videos twice a day (9am for night videos, 9pm for day videos). All images are overlaid with weather data from my own custom built weather stations (that is another thread). For now I am happy with this setup. I have thought about a 360° or at least a vertical cam. This way I can detect precip events (rain on windshield situation).
