Do you own a Midland WR400?
« on: April 09, 2018, 03:14:09 PM »
I just received my new WR400 radio manufactured by Midland and would like to hear from other owners of this radio.  Is there a noticeable "hiss" from the speaker with the radio set to a very low volume in your radio?  Mine has this and it can't be normal for a new device.

Could it simply be an issue with the reception and not a hardware fault? Just a thought.

No, this is on all stations, WX/AM/FM. strong and week signals alike.  I also notice that the volume won't go completely silent with the control all the way down.

Okay. The volume issue might be by design but the hissing issue could be a hardware fault. My WR400 is in storage so I can't pull it out to check how mine sounds.
