Looking for a good portable radio.
« on: March 01, 2011, 06:01:27 PM »
I've been looking around for a good portable radio.  The Midland HH54VP2 looks very nice, since it's rechargeable and has a nice desktop stand.  It's got a lot of the features I want.

The only feature I'm unclear on - I'd like to be able to enable/disable specific watches and warnings.  For example, I don't really care to be alerted about a flood warning, but I'd certainly be concerned with a tornado warning.

I don't see a reference to this type of feature in the manual, but I'm curious to know if this model has it.  Also, are there any other similar models that have this feature?

What's everyone's current favorite portable?

[EDIT: I'm also looking at the RadioShack 12-522, which appears to have the selectable alert feature.]

Thanks!
