Difference between the 1025 / 1525 ?
« on: December 06, 2011, 10:02:28 AM »
I am looking to get my father a weatherstation.  Can anyone tell me the difference between the 1025 and the 1525 that is going to be released?  The specs are the same, the only difference I see is the physical displays are different and the new one appears to have capacitance touch buttons instead of the "normal" ones?

Thanks,
John

Get the one with the physical buttons (1025), it's is much nicer looking to me. They both have the same functions.

The only real differences other than aesthetics are the 1025 has physical buttons and the 1525 has capacitive touch buttons.

I designed the 01525/01500 housing to be a sleek, more modern look to complement the living room/ office setting. It's my personal favorite of the two units. I think the fit/finish on both units turned out really nice though.

Rhino,

I like the looks of the 1525 better myself. It is a nice looking unit, especially at this price point. And from what I hear it is supposed to be Acurite  ;).

My hesitation on it is the problems users on the Acurite forum have been having with the 1025. Have some of these issues been addressed with the 1525?

I want to get one of these for my dad who is quite competent.  I just don't want to bog him down with another thing to troubleshoot.

I personally finished up working on the updated interface and layout for the updated Aculink USB software that is due out any day now (programmer still debugging). This should certainly make the unit easier to set up with USB and online data publishing. Other than some issues with the current Aculink USB software not responding on some PC's, we are getting good results with the 1025.
