race, did you get one?  What is your experience so far?  As you know, I have the WB11A and run it wireless, but my station is down right now because of my move.

Rick,

No, haven't gotten it yet, but hopefully will very soon. Just looking to do some software, streaming and capture testing on a live one, before mine arrives, so I have everything ready to go and in place. Sure don't want to expend the funds, only to find out it won't do what I need. That would really suck. :)

One of the fellow users here just got one and will be allowing me to do some testing. Thanks!

Well, it has been a long time coming! Just waiting for the 21A to be delivered.
As soon as I get it in hand and setup, I'll post a link.

The new cam arrived yesterday. Just waiting for the outside dome to arrive.

Set it up in the office for testing and I must say, it works really well. Can't wait to get it up outside, before winter sets in and put it to work.

Every has arrived. Yeah!

Now, the $64,000 question. What transformer is best to use with the outdoor enclosure with heater? It says it needs to be 24VAC - 100VA. Looked around online and there are thousands of different ones to choose from.

If anyone is currently using a IK-WB21A with the outdoor enclosure w/heater, please let me know about the transformer you used.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Bob,

There is a webcam in Buena Vista CO that is a camera like yours.  Use the wunderground webcams to find it and go to his website and contact him. I'm sure that he will share the info you are asking.

Bob,

I have a new, unused Altronix ALTV244 like this which I received as part of an outdoor camera package and never used. It's rated for 24VAC-100VA.

Make me an offer that covers UPS from California to NH, and a few bucks extra for the toy fund, and it's yours. It's the least I can do for a fellow Ambient mod.

I take PayPal. ;)

A big thank you goes out to Chris for offering up a power supply, which was the final piece of the puzzle.
Once that arrives, we'll get to the task of installing the cam outside.

Phew, almost there!  \:D/

LOL

Those boxes would have been in the seat next to me in the truck!  ;)

Just waiting for the power supply to arrive to power the outdoor enclosure. Should be here on Monday (Thanks Chris!). Once that arrives, we will get things up and running. I do have the cam set up in my store for testing. So far, so good with that.

LMAO!  Is that in your store?  Tell us the story behind it.

I have my station back up, but still without cams.  I'm on a quest to get that fixed today.

Actually, she is in my office at home. Moved the cam over there to get ready for the install this weekend. Yeah!

She took up residence on my wall (and several visits to the crock pot) 3 years ago, after my first hound bear hunt. It was different, but would never want to do that again. Those guys from TN and their hounds  will run you ragged. The one old gent was something like 90 and could cover a mile in the woods in the blink of an eye!  #-o

Glad to hear that you got your station back up and running. Now, get those cams going. :)

Rick,

Nice views from the Canon cam!

How do you like it there, compared to being in Meeker? Looks quite different.

If all goes as planned, we should be able to finish up our cam install tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Bob, I see cam 1 up but #2 doesn't seem to be active.  I love cams!

To answer your question about the differences between Meeker and Delta, there is a LOT difference!  Althjough they are both on Colorado's western alope they are about 120 miles apart.  Delta is much warmer and is in the 'banana belt' between Grand Junction and Montrose. The weather is about 10-15 degrees warmer in winter and the growing season is almost 60 days loinger (although we did get 4" of snow this morning after Thanksgiving).    My property here is about the same size as in Meeker, about 13 ac, but here it is almost all on flat ground and most importantly, it has an adequate water supply deeded from the regional water district.  We have trees and grass and grow about 10ac of hay.  We're not as isolated and that has its advantages and drawbacks.  I have to admit that having a real town nearby is wonderful; we no longer have to drive 120 miles for fast food or a Wal-Mart.

My site is complete and running well, at least as complete as a site ever gets with all the tweaking that we all do.  Now I just have to get it intot he search engines and advertised locally.

Yeah, the old cam #2 bit the dust the other day. Was a cheap x10 wireless, so no big loss. The new cam will be taking its place. That should be functional late this afternoon, if all goes as planned. Are the ducks visable from the

Sounds like it is a much better place to plant roots. By all means, having a town close by and a good water supply is important. That makes up for what ever other minor short comings there may be. Are the ducks visable from the Canon? Liked watching them.

I wish we were a little further outside of town. When we moved here, my wife didn't want to be way out, so we bought closer to town. Now, she even wishes we we out further. Oh well, what's done is done. It's still pretty quiet here though, since it is a very small town. Large land wise, but only 1600 or so residents.

Bob, I can use the settings option but the cam says there is an error and I don't have enough privs.

The ducks and geese are on the other side of the house, but I hope to get another cam over there in the spring, after I trench for power.

Not enough privs to do what? Some things are locked to users right now, but all basic cam functions are available.

Humm, haven't run into that before. Do you have ActiveX active? Also, is this a Vista machine?

On edit: It appears to be a no-ip issue. No idea why that causes a problem. I'll have to figure that one out.

FYI I get the same error as Rick when trying to access the cam using either address. I'm using XP.

This makes no sense. I'm using XP (both an SP1 & SP2 machine) and can access with both addresses. The first one appeared to have a problem with Vista, but the second one seemed to work okay.  #-o  ](*,)

The direct url works fine in both XP and Vista. Nice picture. Good quality and pretty good frame rate.
