Title: Moon indicator on Davis Console
Post by: dundalkwx on July 11, 2018, 04:18:19 PM
Just noticed that my Davis console is showing a full moon tonight when one isn't due for quite a while.

I've checked the date, time and time zone via weatherlink and all are correct.
I've also verified by lat lon and it is correct for Ireland.

Any ideas as to what happening?
Ive had a search through some of the older related posts and could not find a solution.

Thanks

Gareth

Cumulus shows it correctly as a waning crescent

Make sure that your Lat and Long are correctly set.

Mine is 1% off.  I think I can live with that.

Tomorrow is the new moon. Are you sure it's not showing that?

BTW, lat and lon shouldn't have anything to do with lunar phase. Date would.

Date is set correctly from computer via weatherlink.

Just checked mine. It's also showing a fully dark moon. Counting the outer ring as 1, there are only 5 segments to show 29.5 days of phases, or about 6 days per segment. So, a full moon would be just the outer ring, while all segments dark would be the new moon.

When all else fails, consult the manual
